The St. Robert Police will conduct sobriety check points during the month of October.

There were 826 people killed and 4,077 people
seriously injured between 2005 and 2007 from alcohol and other drug involved crashes on Missouri roadways, Traffic Sgt. Butch Hohman said.

"We are trying to reduce this number so please help us by not drinking and driving," Sgt. Hohman said. "We are asking that if you approach a check point be patient you will not be detained any longer than is necessary to insure that you are not impaired. You will be asked to provide your drivers license and insurance documentation then you will be on your way. Thank you for your cooperation in advance."
